Career information

Complete the quiz at:

at the bottom they click on return to my answers and it will give you a list of ideas for careers.

The good thing about this quiz is if you click on the question it explains what it actually means.  This might take about 30 minutes if done slowly and properly in pairs perhaps.

Once you have a list of ideas from the above quiz visit:

and type in each idea (perhaps top 3) and they can learn about Australian information on this career path.

The quiz is a NZ based tool and thus has NZ information that although similar is not the same as Australia.

Think about the following:
1. What education do you need to do this job?
2  What do you do in this job?
3. What makes you think this job would be interesting?
4. What would you need to study at school to be good at this job?
5. What could you do in your spare time to be good at this job (e.g. play sport,                    volunteer etc.)?
6. Do you know anyone that does this job?  If not how could you find someone that does this job?

It is important to network in the industry you are interested in!

Week 8

7 Greeners,

The end is near.  This week we have a guest speaker, Ms Nyree Hatzimihail, coming to visit us.  Ms Hatzimihail will be engaging us on how to make the best of HIGH SCHOOL.  This is a great opportunity to ask all the burning questions you have about high school and even what you can do to get into your chosen careers.

This week Ms Cullen and I will be asking you to start taking home some of your school resources so that you don't have a big heavy bag to carry on your last day.

We will also continue to rehearse for the Christmas concert.  A red note has gone home today that requires a parent signature - please return this ASAP.

Wednesday we will be participating in Mass with Mrs Gambley.  This is a time for reflection and introspection.  This will be your last Mass as a year level - so we encourage you all to be present and at school on time.

Remember that if you want to download images of Year7 camp then you are required to bring in a USB and download these from our school files.

Also Elle's mother has requested that if you would like to send her some images of your child from over the years here at St B's - she is putting together a slide show to be shown at the end of year graduation night.  Notes with all this information were sent home 2 weeks ago and last Friday.  If you have lost yours, then you will need to ask a friend for the information.

Have a great week 7 Green.... Holidays are just around the corner!

Week 7

7 Greeners,

It has been a pleasure to watch you be the strongest leaders this week.  You have participated in your swimming carnival - a big thank you to all the 7 Green students who made the effort to swim and gain a point for their house colour.  Well DONE!

You are happily working on your graduation bags and making an effort to be reflective in all your learning.  We are gradually filling our paper bags with lovely notes from each other.  This will be a memory to your Yr 7 journey.

Remember to rehearse your dance moves for the Christmas concert.  We will make time for this during class time as well.

You have done an outstanding job in making your Bullying posters during library time this term and a big thank you to Miss Cameron for leading us in that.

Keep up the spirit 7 Green - we are almost there.

Ms C and Mrs C

Hi 7 Greeners,

This week brings some fun.  You have been working very hard to stay focussed and the holidays are just around the corner.  Keep it up.

Maths
We will continue to keep our brains ticking with solving some maths problems this week.  We will look at "REAL LIFE" maths in our world.  Keep tuned.

You will be handed back you marked report.  Outstanding results Yr 7.  Mrs Cullen and I are very proud of your efforts with this report. Lots of great scientific language has been used and lots of great knowledge on the phenomena you have investigated and researched.

Remembrance Day
Today marks Remembrance Day and we take a moment to pause and reflect on all the battles fought around our world and the people whom have lost their lives.  Lest we forget.

Hi 7 Greeners,

You are doing a tremendous job!  You are focussed and ready to work.  Well done.

This week brings:

Maths: This week we will be revising Rates and Algebra ready for the exam.  Remember, by doing five minutes study each night will place you in a good position for the exam.  If you are having difficulty with any concepts please come and see me or Mrs Cullen.

English:  We will continue to write our Book Reviews on our selected picture books. Everyone will have a turn on the class computers to type up their reviews.

Science:  We will continue to write our notes ready for our science report.  This will be conducted this week.  Make sure you have all your resources ready.
